As a child, Kelly famously cried when the Beast turned back into a prince at the end of Beauty and the Beast. She thought he was far more interesting as a monster. Decades later, not much has changed. She still prefers flawed heroes and love stories that find beauty in the darkness. 

After spending years crafting communications for real-world organizations, Kelly now prefers creating fictional empires and the dangerous people who run them. When she's not writing, she's usually reading, drinking coffee, or watching the wildlife outside her home in the woods.
